Noraishah Ismail
Senior Associate
LL. B (Hons) Nottingham, CLP

Noraishah Ismail is a legal associate with Fahda Nur & Yusmadi beginning June 2018. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of Nottingham and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in September 1999. Having previously chambered at Zain & Co since the end of 1998, she joined their corporate department as a legal assistant in October 1999 and became primarily involved in handling due diligence exercises for mergers and acquisitions and other corporate exercises as well as drafting and advising on commercial agreements and transactions.

In 2004, she left Zain & Co to join Bursa Malaysia Berhad as an in-house counsel in the legal advisory department and was mainly responsible for reviewing and formulating amendments to the listing requirements, rules and corporate governance framework and dealing with compliance issues, particularly after Bursa Malaysia Berhad itself became a listed entity in 2005.

Having missed legal practice, she left Bursa Malaysia in 2007 to join the partnership at Adi & Co, where in addition to performing corporate and commercial work, she became increasingly involved in conveyancing and real estate matters, including sub-sale transactions and project developments. It was in the course of one such conveyancing file that she embarked on her interest in Muslim estate planning and administration when a client in a sub-sale transaction unexpectedly passed away, thereby necessitating a change in the course of action. She left Adi & Co in December 2016 to focus on gaining further knowledge and experience in the field of estate planning and administration, including the drafting and preparation of wills, creation of trusts and declarations of hibah as well as the application and implementation of small estate distribution orders, before being offered a position with Fahda Nur & Yusmadi.
